I wore a J.Crew boiled wool sweater, an H&M cotton peplum top, silk trousers pilfered from Grandma’s closet (previously featured here when I wore them on a date), my all-time-dig alligator clutch, also from Grandma (seen often on this here blog), suede heels found at TJMaxx, a mirrored necklace given to me by my friend Emily (which was featured in one of my very first posts), my SEE glasses, and Revlon lipstick in Kiss Me Coral.
And speaking of Grandma – my family and I are headed to the great state of Florida to visit the old bird. I’m taking a much needed Vitamin D bath.

I went with laces like these.
It may be said that these Bass boots are the best way to explore the archives of My Closet in Sketches. Check it:
I wore them in,
-Lucky Strike
-Working Girl
-School of Hip Hop
-Morning After, Making Out, Sunrise on the Seine
-Do You Remember September
-and more.

I saw this quote in last Sunday’s New York Times. On point.
Playing up the swag, I dressed down my Rag & Bone leather tuxedo jacket and a white and black silk tuxedo pencil skirt I picked up at the J.Crew sales this holiday season with my Rag & Bone chambray button up knotted at the waist, black Hue tights, and Simply Vera Vera Wang bejeweled d’Orsay pumps.

I took some liberties on the pronouns of this Hardy Amies quote – but I do believe my new-ish frames from (former employer) SEE Eyewear do an excellent job of illustrating this credo on my face.

It was just a matter of time before I did a How To featuring my favorite article of clothing… in general, I prefer to lift button ups off of my dad or brother and then wear them to death.
The star shirt is from the Urban Outfitters Men’s Department, the red one underneath my Madewell leather jacket is from Old Navy, the plaid one underneath my grandma’s monogrammed sweater is from my brother c/o of J.Crew, the polka dot shirt my mom got from Land’s End Canvas, the chambray one is Rag & Bone and worn over a Gap henley, and the “wishful thinking” shirt is from J.Crew, worn over a Victoria’s Secret string bikini and Forever 21 booty-licious shorts.
And if you haven’t already scoped these, here is How to Wear a Scarf, How to Wear a Tee, and How to Wear Jeans.
Lastly, clicky clicky here to follow me on Bloglovin‘.
