LF and Scoutmob Do It’s Vintage Darling

Let me tell you, Enemy Number One to my bank account is Scoutmob – those crazy cats keep sending me to cute DC shops and MAKING me buy things! It’s not my fault!

The latest conquest happened at It’s Vintage Darling, an gem of a store right down the street from where I used to live. I left with this uh-mazing silk dress, in addition to a girl crush for the store manager, Elise.

Year Two

This blogiversary is an amazing way to track my drawing progress

Whether you viewed  those when I first published them or you are new to the site, I want to reiterate a) how grateful I am for your visit, b) isn’t it crazy how much you can improve at something if you put your mind to it? and c) this website gave me the gift of purpose, and without that I can’t imagine what my life would be today. I’m thankful that I can share something so meaningful to me with you.

PS: I missed my official blogiversary (April 28th) because I was busy yelling the loudest at my brother’s graduation… But better late than never, right?

Second Run: Ladies Who Brunch

Monday wasn’t the first time grandma’s silk jacket made it onto the internets. What feels like a lifetime ago, I featured the floral number in a slightly funky, slightly sexy brunch look.

It’s kind of crazy to go back a year and a half ago and see how much has changed – and how much has stayed the same. (Honestly, I get all sentimental just thinking about it.)

Are ya’ll interested in me putting up some more second run sketches? Sometimes its fun to look back, no?

Lucky Mag Recycling Bin Issue 2

Another illustration saved from the bowels of the Lucky Magazine “throw-away” pile – who’s ready for the public pools to open already, huh?

LF and Scoutmob Do Nana

Signing up for this was either a very good idea or a very bad idea. I’ve teamed up with Scoutmob to bring you semi-reg sketches inspired by an outfit  dreamed up at one of DC’s many amazing local boutiques/hotspots/general places for cool people only. First up was a visit (with my best blogger pal) to Nana - a visit I found to be so delightful I ended up going home with half of the stuff I “tried on.” We’ll see if I can resist temptation in the future, stay tuned for the next Illustrative Style with Scoutmob!
