Peeps, my apologies for the semi-total-radio-silence.
I’ve been making an effort to enjoy my summer to its fruitful fullest, which translates to a lot less time at the drawing board. With my passion also (amazingly!) my vocation, I found the last few months to be instrumental in giving my brain (and my hand!) a much needed break.
I’m on my way back home to Michigan for some quality family time on our Great Lakes (I did this sketch after our trip last year). My only goal is to do a lot of NOTHING before I return to DC with a back-to-school-sharpen-your-pencils-it’s-September mindset. Please, join me in my laziness before its too late.

Crazy humid days call for nothing more than a white shirt dress; I bought this one three summers ago while on vacation in Spain. Still rocking those gypsy fans, too.

Holy. Cow. I have never, ever had this much drawing work to do in so short an amount of time. Besides praying that my arm does not fall off, I am reminding myself of the above message. Onward! (I’ll see you on the other side. Phew.)

I love having a ritual that marks the beginning of 94 days of tan-lines, Oberon’s, and heat so hot it gets all up in your business. It’s like bookending a season-long holiday.
PS – do yourself a favor and check out Nancy Melet’s bracelets. They practically scream for summer!

I’m home for my bro’s graduation from college this weekend…
I go majorly chill when I’m in The Mitten, so I’m referring to this sketch from last year for some sartorial tips. You know, things with a loose crotch, shoes that you don’t have to tie, etc.
